MG Strike Freedom WIP 1

Just some pictures for the kit I'm working on. It's from the snap-fit stage which really helps me visualize what kind of modifications I can make. It also helps me find seam lines that I will need to fix.

Gundam Build Fighters Try (Season 2)

The second season of Gundam Build Fighters is coming out this October 2014!

I watched the 1st season and found it to be really refreshing and entertaining. However, I was really hoping that the producers would continue the storyline and keep the main character as Sei Iori. Instead, they are introducing completely new characters to star in the show. How disappointing.

Though I am still pretty optimistic about the show, I'm quite hesitant on  investing on a "new" show once more. To be honest, it's already hard enough to keep up with all the other good stuff to watch on TV.

Nevertheless, I'd give this show a try for a couple of episodes just to see what it has to offer. Cheers!

Below are the three main protagonist Gunplas to be featured in the show.

Gunpla Height Guide

Ever wonder if that kit you've been eyeing on for weeks will fit on your display? We all know that one of the saddest realities in our hobby is when we finish up a magnificent Gundam only to realize that we don't have a respectably sized space to display it.

Space, or the lack thereof, is one of the biggest constraints to a collector. At one point, we will have to face the challenge of maximizing this very scarce resource. For people with limited storage capacity, it is very helpful to know the dimensions of the Gundam kit they want before they purchase it. They can use this information to plan out and prioritize which kits they can realistically accommodate. They can also use this information to make better decisions.

I decided to address this issue in my own little way by compiling and computing for the estimated height of a gunpla in 1/60, 1/100, and 1/144 scales based on their actual height.

Credits to Gundam Wiki for the data on actual height.

Notes: - 1/60, 1/100, 1/144 height are in inches - Table contains all mobile suits (even those without model kits) - Table is sortable by click on the column header

So without further ado,

FREE gundams? Yes please! (Gundam Caravan)

When I started getting into the hobby, I scavenged the internet for all the resources I could find. I browsed through everything from in-depth tutorials to forum conversations, even work-in-progress galleries and whatnot. It was so exciting and I just kept absorbing information like a sponge.

Surprisingly, while I was doing all that research, I stumbled upon a local Bandai-sponsored mall-touring event where they gave out free Advanced Grade (AG) kits to participants in order to promote the hobby. The organizers will provide all the basic tools that you'd need and the only requirement was that the kit be assembled in the venue within the time limit of an hour.

Even though they only gave away an AG kit, I decided to give it a shot in the next scheduled event because you know... having a little bit of something is better than nothing (aka I-love-free-stuff-syndrome).

The event I attended featured a mini building and detailing contest where the best looking entries were given prizes. The free kit was an AG AGE-1 Normal. Sadly, I didn't win but I still went home with a big smile on my face. Overall, I had real great fun and I wouldn't mind going back again.

Below are some pictures of my AG AGE-1 Normal. :)
